Hidden Lake Alpacas - a specialist breeder of elite black Suri alpacas

Located on the Mornington Peninsula, one hours drive from Melbourne, in a beautiful setting surrounding our “hidden” lake.


Black Suri Alpaca

Our elite herd of Black Suri alpacas has developed using the best genetics available, based on a core of imported Peruvian bloodlines. 

We use quality females and match them to top males to improve the genetic quality and diversity. All our animals have long black pedigrees, resulting in consistent and predictable colour outcomes. 

Black Breeding Stock and Stud Sires

We have high quality breeding stock, representing the best genetics available, that would enhance the breeding programs of breeders focussed on black alpacas.

We also offer stud services of leading black stud sires.

Hidden Lake Alpacas are now focusing exclusively on Black Suri - So our herd of black and coloured Huacaya has been largely dispersed.

                                               The last of them have now been released for dispersal.
